How to find problems in the wild

Time: 20 to 25 minutes Module: 1, Coach Reya

Tara is 15. Her older sister Priya, 18, was applying to college. Tara wanted to build something for her.

Tara assumed the problem was "writing the essays." She had a whole product in her head: an AI essay coach with real-time feedback and a tone slider.

Then she did the thing this lesson is about. She watched Priya for a week. Just watched. Took notes. Did not interrupt.

By Sunday, Tara realized Priya did not have an essay problem. Priya wrote essays fine. Priya had a different problem entirely, and Tara would never have seen it from inside her own head.

You're about to learn what Tara saw, and the three ways to do what she did.
