Why the template works
The sentence forces three disciplines at once:
- Specificity about the customer. You cannot fill [customer] with "people" or "users." If you do, the rest of the sentence collapses.
- A bounded outcome. The middle blank is what the product DOES today. Not someday.
- A connected result. The outcome has to actually cause the result. If "so they" doesn't follow, the chain is broken.
If any blank is fuzzy, the offer leaks. People nod politely and ask about pie.
So how does the template break in practice? Four common ways.
